Optimizing Your Title Tag

Your Ad Here

First and foremost, every single page on your site should have a Title tag. “Untitled Document” showing up at the top of your page is useless and unprofessional. Use something descriptive but brief. Try to keep the character count to 65 or less, as you’ll notice that most search engines truncate your title if it becomes much longer than that. The first part of your title should be the one, two, or three primary key phrases that pertain to the page content. If you have space left over, it is acceptable to use an information blurb in each title, such as the site or business name. However, this should be considered secondary to your key phrases. Follow these steps and you should see improvements in both search engine ranking and traffic.
