Another Interview
I took my last day off yesterday to go to my third interview so far. I was surprised by both the ease with which we found the building and the quality of the area. I guess I’ve seen so many concrete highrises lately that I forgot how some people enjoy a pleasant living/working environment.
The interview itself went pretty smoothly. I couldn’t believe how great the benefits were. Depending on the salary, they’ve got the most competitive offering hands down. That’s not to mention the schools or the nearby apartments. Frankly, I’d love to work there. I just hope that they make me an offer sooner rather than later, because I’ll feel compelled to take the first offer that gets me out of my current job.
Whatever the case, I probably won’t hear a definite answer from either of my top two choices for at least a week. I wish it were easier to convince my wife to calm down in the mean time. She keeps drooling over apartments. I can’t say I’m not thrilled at the possibilities myself, but I’d rather not get my hopes up and find out that nobody wants to make me a reasonable offer.
At any rate, the job hunt continues unabated. I don’t have any more interviews lined up, which isn’t such a bad thing considering I don’t have any more paid time off until next month. Of course, I’ve got competitive qualifications for everything for which I’ve already applied. Who knows? Maybe I’ll get a life-changing call later today.
