Trogdor
I’ve blogged about Homestarrunner.com in the past, and pretty much everything on the site qualifies as great entertainment. However, Trogdor stands out from other features on the site. Today, my wife insisted that I go to the computer as soon as I got home to see a tribute to Trogdor’s third birthday.
To those of you unfamiliar with Trogdor, he is a badly-sketched dragon that first appeared in Strong Bad’s Dragon email. For some reason, the nerdy culture surrounding Strong Bad latched on to Trogdor, turning him into an unstoppable meme. This led to the creation of a Trogdor game and Peasant’s Quest, a text-based RPG based on Trogdor complete with its own trailer and fake movie.
It’s absolutely mindboggling how much this one bad sketch has become. Trogdor has his own line of merchandise and a vast concourse of fan tributes. Heck, he was even referenced on the final episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I, for one, hope he keeps burninating for years to come.
