Gas Price Humor

June 4, 2007Stephen Ward

I went to the pump the other day to fill up my 12-gallon tank and walked away with a receipt for over $35. Was I outraged and appalled? Nah. Like most people, I’ve come to regard escalating gas prices as sort of a running gag. We keep whining about it going up when that’s the only place it has to go. Politicians will keep passing the buck until we’re stuck in a 21st century, gasoline-shortfall-induced depression. The whole situation is so sad, you can’t help but laugh.

Apparently I’m not the only one who thinks so. Here’s a few humorous cartoons illustrating just how ridiculous gas prices have become.
